Yes. You need a compounded prescription from your doctor that specifies the strength and active ingredients of your medication. We will also work with you and your doctor to incorporate your special needs such as flavor and delivery form.
All types of prescriptions for medications that are not commercially available can be compounded. The idea is to meet your individual needs or find a solution to a problem. For example, you may need to avoid an ingredient to which you have a particular sensitivity, or to have your medication formulated into a different dosage form such as a topical gel, a liquid or a lozenge. You may need to combine two or more medications to avoid carrying and taking so many pills. Contact us if you would like us to discuss the ideal solution with you and your doctor to meet your unique compounding requirements.
Talk to your doctor about your preference and have them give us a call. We will discuss your needs and options for a different form of delivery and provide your doctor with guidance on how to write the new prescription.
In some cases, you can have supplements compounded into your medication. This can be determined on a case by case basis and in consultation with your healthcare provider.
When you submit a compounded medication prescription, we will check with your insurance and let you know what is covered and what your co-pay is.
Yes. We look forward to working with healthcare providers. Have your doctor give us a call or email us and we will be happy to answer their questions about our compounding services and discuss your individual needs. We also arrange to meet with doctors in the Avondale area who would like to have a more detailed discussion about compounding.
Indicate at the top that it is a compounded prescription. Specify the generic names of active ingredients and their strength or dose; the dosage form, the quantity, and the directions for use. You can fill out a compounding prescription form which can be submitted online, or write it out on your regular prescription form. Please contact us if you want to discuss formulations or have any questions and we will be happy to answer them.
